Most minds are complete unused and ready for service.

Re: Speculation 2015: Third and Fourth Helping Robotic Hands

Good idea. The communication to the arms is pretty much one way, unlike Doctor Octopus in Spiderman 2 who had the AI in the arms take over his mind. At a simple level it would like telling someone beside you to pick something up or hold something while you were say busy in the kitchen mixing ingredients for a pie. ie hold the recipe up so I can read it while my hands are working the dough. There are one million robotic arms in use now that build cars. The breakthrough is mainly getting lighter and cheaper robotic arms. $100-500 instead of $10,000 to $1,000,000. Converting industrial tools into personal power tools for the masses.

The usefulness of robotic arms has been evident for decades it is just bringing them to mass production and more markets. The level of interaction and kind of interaction with the human mind are trying to breakthrough to a new level of ease of use. But it could also be voice commands or reading of gestures or facial expressions instead of mind-machine interface. It could also be more recorded and repeated actions like excel macros.

Re: Speculation 2015: Third and Fourth Helping Robotic Hands

So, is this a good idea (like in Aliens) or a bad idea (like in Spiderman II)?
