Next Big Future: McCain Picks Sarah Palin for Vice President, as called by this site three months ago

I was leaning towards McCain, but think that the Palin pick puts me firmly in the Obama camp. She seems to religious for my taste. Her views on abortion will have lasting effects as the next president may choose important judges. Also, she is for the idea of creationism being taught in schools next to evolution, which I think is just plain ridiculous. I'll pay more taxes with Obama, but at least the country won't be turning towards a religious state...

That's just what the USA needs a potential feminist fundamental christian creationist VP closer to the main office than ever before.

Only a vice president possibility. All ready had Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and the two Bush president who had stated creationist support. I am against creationism but consider it a minor issue. I do not believe creationism can get placed as the only thing taught and no child with non-creationist parents will end up believing it. Only some of the religious people who are already teaching creationism at home and in church need the consistent school message of creationism to have any hope of having the kid believe it. It is because they fear the power of the evidence of evolution. There is no more chance that McCain-Pail will turn the USA into a religious state than Obama-Biden. Notice that Obama also pushes his Christianity a great deal as well. Also, remember that there will be a Democratic party dominated Senate and House.

McCain for lower taxes, more nuclear power (a better handling for environment), more moderate policies as a counter balance to Democratic dominated senate and house.

Well and you can see quite clearly the result of having fundamental christians in the white house (Reagan: StarWars the biggest financial science bluff in the history of the world, BushSr Iraq War I, BushJr Iraq War II / Afganisthan). I think US should have learned the lessons of not bringing politician in the white house who can not distinguish between religion and politics.
